Is it possible to rent a car having foreign rights issued outside Belarus?

A lessee with a driver’s license issued by one of the countries included in the signatories of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of November 8, 1968, can drive a rented vehicle in the Republic of Belarus.
The driver's license must be valid and comply with the requirements of the above Convention on Road Traffic.

A driver’s license obtained in another country (not included in the Vienna Convention) must either be drawn up in one of the official languages of the Republic of Belarus or be accompanied by a document certified by a notary in the prescribed manner with a translation of the text into Russian or Belarusian. Such a certificate is also considered valid in Belarus.

Old (perpetual rights) issued during the USSR until 1995 will not be valid on the territory of the Republic of Belarus from January 1, 2020.

The duration of the use of a foreign driver’s license depends on the rules of stay in Belarus.
